An accident involving a freight elevator has killed a worker at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. plant in Marysville.

Marysville police and emergency crews were sent to the plant at 5:43 p.m. Thursday on a report of an unresponsive person. They found 53-year-old Kelly Swartz pinned beneath a freight elevator on the ground floor of the plant.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
